Chartered Financial Planning & Senior Lecturer

When I was invited to join my sponsor emphasised the tremendous progress that Rotary had made in its ambition to eradicate polio from the globe. Whenever I visit Rotary clubs I am struck by the enthusiasm and fellowship which exists in each club and just how focused and committed members, both male and female, are upon their chosen projects. I am motivated by the knowledge that Rotary offers us all the opportunity to "put something back", both locally and from time to time internationally. The social side is also very attractive.

Every member of a Rotary club brings with them a range of experience, not only in a career sense but of life in general and this experience is the lifeblood of the club and Rotary generally, available as it is to be harnessed in support of others in our community.

My own background is in finance and education. I am in practice as a Chartered Financial Planner and Senior Lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the University of Bedfordshire, which I took up after I had acquired my MBA in Developing Business.

My hobbies include golf, water-colour painting (although this is currently being "rested") and providing talks to local clubs and societies in return for a donation to my chosen charity. I also enjoy cooking, although my three children's observations on the results are not available for publication!
