Gill Monsell
Acorn House Vets
Veterinary Surgeon
Born in Neath, Glamorgan, South Wales in 1951 but I grew up and went to school in Newport at an old fashioned coed grammar school where an appreciation of rugby was obligatory!
I have always been zoologically minded and read veterinary medicine at Cambridge University Vet School - in the golden days when there were 6 men at the University for every woman - now it's the opposite way round (on the veterinary course at least!).
After qualifying I spent time working in various animal practices in Sunbury-on-Thames and Northampton and then spent three years researching for a PhD in parasitic immunology back at Cambridge.
I have been a Partner in Acorn House Veterinary Surgery in Bedford since 1997. As a practice our ethos is to give a friendly, professional, caring service to our clients in a well equipped modern clinic with continuity of care wherever possible.
I love being a member of De Parys Rotary and have been also previously been the President. I enjoy being involved with all the activites and being able to support local projects.
